The Shimano Ultegra R8150 Di2 shifters are suitable for the Shimano Ultegra R8100 Di2 rim brake group set. One of the most important parts of this semi-wireless electronic shifting group, together with the front and rear derailleur. The ergonomics of the Shimano Ultegra R8150 shifters have been optimised and are similar to the shifters in the Dura Ace R9200 Disc Di2 groupset. Thanks to the ergonomics of the Shimano Ultegra R8100 shifters, they are comfortable to hold for longer periods.
The shifters are equipped with 2 button cell batteries that maintain the connection to the front and rear derailleur. These have a battery life of about 1.5 years of use. The shifters not only control the shifting but also the braking. These shifters are delivered without brake calipers, in case you suffer fall damage or after a long period of use.
This Shimano Ultegra R8100 DI2 group only has a cable connection between the battery, front and rear derailleur. The shifting performance has been taken to an even higher level. Not only has the shifting speed been increased, you can now also shift smoothly while applying power to the pedals. There is also no longer a need for a junction box, but you can set up the groupset and charge it via the rear derailleur. When the groupset is fully charged, you can ride about 1000 kilometres. The wireless shifters contain two button cell batteries that last about 1.5 years before they need to be replaced. The charger is not included with the groupset and is the same as the one used with the power meters.
Shimano DI2 app
All adjustment options such as assigning shift buttons, shifting way or adjusting shifting speed can be done through the Shimano DI2 app. The function of the shift buttons is individually adjustable. The synchronized shift or semi-synchronized shift where the front derailleur automatically shifts with the ideal chain line is still possible.
